ON FARM VISITS
We have recently have turned our dreams into reality by building an amazing on farm visiting area for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy our animals and the country atmosphere. We have created a lovely 5 acres agricultural area for private small groups to visit us and meet our animals. Some of the work we have done over the past months is with Tafe's for their practical assessments in Animal Studies, disability and at risk students (offering work experience programs and private visit sessions), and the public offering various private bookings. We are looking to extend our on farm work experience and private sessions in 2024 and will offer tailored private group programs. Please email any enquiries
We also have the odd on farm public day, where individuals or small groups can attend. Please follow our Facebook ( Grubby Gumboots Farm Visits) and Instagram as this is where we announce our upcoming on farm days
MORE ABOUT OUR FARM
Our farm visit sessions are only open to private groups at the moment but if you follow our socials we do put up opportunities for indivuals to visit when our work experience programs are running.
Animals you will be meeting, interacting with, feeding, and grooming include goats and kids, sheep and lambs, chooks, ducks, peacocks and hens, guinea fowl, pigs, rabbits, guineapigs, alpacas, dogs, cats, a pony and cows. Most of our animals are rescue animals raised by our children and ourselves from a very young age. This makes for a friendly experience when meeting our animals.
Some of the activities you can experience on our farm when participating in programs are feeding, playing with animals, grooming, cleaning enclosures, training animals, collecting eggs, gardening ( including planting, weeding, watering), health checks and animal health care.
We strive for sustainable farm practices and have many systems in place. We use tank water, solar lights, recycle materials for shelters/garden beds, compost and collect animal fertiliser and use to grow beautiful veggies and plants, just to name a few.
